I give you something fun to look at - a real goal for the people-pleaser in me (hahahhh, mini-me indeed!) This is my outfit for the day (my camera reeks of failure, apologies):
Scarf: Thrifted
Sweater: Juicy Couture
Leggings: Cheap Shtufff
Boots: Vivienne Westwood
In a roundabout way, this outfit reminds me of the Artful Dodger—pickpocket idealism? Sort of slouchy and colorful and easy to wear. Actually, I just watched Oliver—maybe that’s the basis of the whole Artful Dodger bit. Hummm. I have a romantic heart.
The beading on the dress is really stunning—it’s too bad it’s too cold to go without bulky bundlage. You’d like it. Very shnazzayyy. I don’t know—I felt like the outfit needed something. Maybe a hat? We’ll have to think on it. I have a nice vintage violet fedora - I'll have to take a picture.
On another note: I just heard a great new band, about a week ago, called The Tallest Man on Earth. A Swedish folk singer (Kristian Matsson) who sounds almost unbnearably old-school, old-west American. My particular favorite song was 'Walk the Line.' This is a general pleaser. It pleased my country/rap sister, my hip-hop/reggae/pop-punk best friend, my Creedence Clearwater Revival mother, and my strange self. Imagine! Upon first listen, you feel like you've heard it a million times. Crazy. It's on my playlist on the blog - check it.
